Describe yourself using a fictional character from a book.
I have always been the Disney-fied version of Belle, often feeling like I need to run to the nearby fields and sing about how I want so much more than everyone else in town has planned. But I often feel like I’m a strange mixture of Hermione Granger and Luna Lovegood. I connect very strongly with Hermione’s love of books and identify a lot with Luna’s ethereal energy.
If you could live in a fiction world which would it be?
The wizarding world of Harry Potter. I’d love nothing more than to follow fellow Hufflepuff Newt Scamander around the world, observing magical creatures and researching novels.
Fave book for a rainy day in?
On rainy days I like to read books that reflect the weather. This is often when I read my tear-jerkers, and strangley enough, when I have read my two favourite books. The Summer That Melted Everything by Tiffany McDaniel and A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness have both left book shaped holes in my soul.
Authors you would love to take book pictures for and why?
Maggie Stiefvater’s Shiver trilogy was, really, what got me into reading and has always left a lasting impression on me. Having recently read The Raven Cycle and taking pictures of those on my Instagram account, I would love to take pictures of her any upcoming novels.
I also simply ADORE the cover of Erin Bowman’s Vengeance Road and can’t wait to get my hands on a copy of Retribution Rails.
What books do you like taking pictures of and why?
To put it simply, I love taking pictures of books with gorgeous covers. I love when I can find props that match the story, but I’m also a sucker for taking pictures of the classic even if I’m not a big classics reader!
What book genre do you read the most?
YA Contemporary. I’ve always been a sucker for a good YA romance, but recently I’ve really been into reading books that draw from hard hitting issues (Another The Summer That Melting Everything reference!)
What is the perfect book shot?
My favourite kinds of shots contain a nice book cover with props that show some of the story. (And even though they are a pain to set up, I love taking my book background photos!)
Sum up your life and work so far in a short book synopsis.
Growing up, she had always felt stuck. Stuck in a town she hated and around people who didn’t understand her, she felt he only escape was in the written world. With her fictional friends in her head and passion in her heart, she chose to write a life she loved. Conquering her issues with the only way she knew how, she self-published her first novel at sixteen and found her place in the bookstagram world four years later.
